A warm welcome to Vorm aan de Vecht, an exceptional exhibition curated by NIcole Uniquole at Buitenplaats Doornburgh where I am proud to present my latest work WOVEN WALLS and LLeHs by designer Karel Bodegom . The iconic former priory between Utrecht and Amsterdam showcases outstanding work by more than 75 leading designers, artists and photographers.

WOVEN WALLS

My latest textile developments, WOVEN WALLS, can be seen in room 9: the freestanding architectural textile constructions in this special exhibition space are inspired by the plastic number theory of architect and monk Dom Hans van der Laan, which his student, Jan de Jong, applied to the architectural design of the priory. WOVEN WALLS is part of my continuing research into woven, spatial textile constructions on an architectural scale, made possible by SCI and realised in collaboration with Textielmuseum | TextielLab in Tilburg.

LLeHs

Presented alongside my WOVEN WALLS is the ‘Long Lasting electric Heating system’, or LLeHs, by designer Karel Bodegom, who invited me to design its surface pattern. For this architecturaleye-catcher, I translated my signature RHOMBUS geometric to a magnified diamond pattern with a rhythmic, matte gradient, contrasting beautifully with the polished surface of the heating panels. The playful interaction with light infuses the aesthetic room divider with a subtle sense of movement.

Vorm aan de Vecht runs until September 25.
You are welcome to visit this extraordinary exhibition from Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
